MIKLAVŽ
Sveti Miklavž nas obišče na večer 5. decembra. Sveti Miklavž ima belo brado, oblečen pa je v dolgo belo haljo, ki jo prekriva plašč. Na glavi ima kapo, ki spominja na šilasto kapo, kakršno so nosili veliki svečniki kot znak svoje oblasti. Dva rogova spominjata na staro in novo zavezo. V eni roki ima škofovsko palico, v drugi pa knjigo, v kateri z zlatimi črkami piše, kaj so delali pridni otroci, s črnimi pa kaj so uganjali poredneži. Na osnovi tega se Sveti Miklavž odloča za darila.

SAINT NICHOLAS
Saint Nicholas pays us a visit in the evening on 5 December. Children get a lot of presents, hidden on the window shelves or in front of the doors. Among the presents are a lot of sweets and some fruit. However, some of the children were not that good during the year, which is why they find a rod. This is a scary part of the event, because many times Old Nick accompanies Saint Nicholas, who punishes wicked children, so this day can be very exciting for them.
